Activities in Agadir are not limited to the beach. The city blends the Atlantic coastline, Amazigh culture, spectacular landscapes and local cuisine to offer a stay rich in discoveries.
This guide gets straight to the point. Fifteen activities, classified by affinity, so that every hour spent in Agadir counts.
Sunset from the ramparts is ten minutes of silence that are well worth the detour.
Souk El Had, literally "the Sunday market," is actually open every day. It's one of the largest covered markets in Morocco, offering spices, argan oil, babouches (traditional Moroccan slippers), vegetables from the Souss region, and Amazigh handicrafts. The market is bustling from 9 a.m. onwards.
The golden rule: don’t buy from the first store. Turn, compare, come back. And allow a good hour, minimum.
Agadir Beach is one of the longest in Morocco. Nine kilometers of golden sand, sheltered from the swell by the bay's configuration, with clean water and consistent waves, it's an ideal playground for beginner surfers. Families occupy the center; surfers and kitesurfers migrate to the ends.
The Taghazout area, 20 km to the north, is renowned worldwide among experienced surfers, an excursion worth the drive.

The seafront promenade stretches along the Bay of Agadir for several kilometers. Palm trees, cycle paths, sidewalk cafes, fresh juice vendors. This is where Agadir slows down. In the morning, joggers. In the afternoon, families. In the evening, everyone.
Renting a bike on the promenade is one of the best ways to cover the distance effortlessly and without having to look for a taxi.
Less than an hour south of Agadir, the Souss-Massa National Park is home to one of the last remaining populations of bald ibis in the world, a bird considered endangered. The park also protects Dorcas gazelles, pink flamingos, and vegetation characteristic of the Souss region.
It's a different kind of excursion from anything else Agadir offers in the city centre, and that's precisely why it's worth it.
Migratory birds stop over in the wetlands of the park between October and March: an ideal time for birdwatchers.
About an hour and a half from Agadir towards the Atlas Mountains, Paradise Valley is one of the most popular getaways in the region. Red sandstone gorges, a narrow river valley, palm trees, and small riverside cafes where mint tea is served at a leisurely pace.
Combining it with the Oasis of Tiout, a little further to the northeast, allows for a whole day out of time.
Before searching for souvenirs in the souk or admiring the handicrafts displayed throughout the city, an hour at the Amazigh Heritage Museum will change your perspective. Berber jewelry, carpets, musical instruments, traditional costumes of the various tribes of the Souss region—the collection tells the story of who the inhabitants of this region are, far beyond the postcard image.
The Olhão Garden, named after the Portuguese city twinned with Agadir, is a discreet municipal green space that most guidebooks fail to mention. It features a raised terrace with views of the city and the ocean, lush vegetation, and shady benches. It's ideal for a midday break before continuing your day.
For families with children, the Valley of the Birds in Agadir, an open-air park with flamingos, monkeys and bird cages, is a gentler but popular alternative.
Camel rides on the beach or in the dunes are among the most popular activities in Agadir, and also one of the most inconsistent depending on the operator. Opt for a ride of at least two hours (15-minute beach rides are disappointing) with a guide, and check the animal welfare conditions before booking.
Agadir marina has been completely renovated in recent years. It now boasts seafood restaurants, shops, and cafes with views of the boats. It's also the starting point for sea excursions, fishing trips, and boat rides along the coast.
The Agadir cable car connects the lower part of the city to the hills, a short aerial journey offering a unique perspective on the bay of Agadir and the surrounding hills. More touristy than sporty, but effective for grasping the city's geography at a glance.
The Moroccan tagine from the Souss region—lamb with prunes, chicken with preserved lemon, and garden vegetables—is different from what you find in Marrakech or Fez. Milder, less spicy, with that touch of argan oil that makes all the difference.
Several riads and associations offer half-day cooking classes. A centuries-old art passed down from generation to generation, the cuisine of Souss deserves more than a meal in a restaurant: understand it first, then appreciate it.
A hammam in Agadir isn't optional; it's the logical conclusion to any busy day. Exfoliation with beldi soap, steam, and argan oil massage. Neighborhood hammams (a few dirhams) and hotel spas offer two very different experiences, both worthwhile depending on how you arrive.
Cazorel livre votre véhicule directement à l’Al Massira Airport or even to your hotel.
